Manila Water Foundation (MWF), in collaboration with the Manila Water Company Sustainability
Department and the Corporate Human Resources Group, continues to advance the enterprise sustainability agenda through the SIKLO Wear & Care program. This MWF-led initiative tapped
Manila Water employees—known as Katubigs—to live out and wear sustainability by donating pre-loved corporate uniforms and transforming them into high-value, stylish products rooted in circular economy principles.

A Fusion of Design, Identity, and Purpose

To animate this vision, Manila Water Foundation partnered with Rags2Riches (R2R), a multi- awarded social enterprise that empowers artisans and weavers from low-income communities.
Building on R2R’s rich design legacy—including historical collaborations with celebrated Filipino designers—SIKLO: Wear & Care marks a adds color to sustainable fashion and weaves corporate social responsibility.

The SIKLO Wear & Care: Weave & Wave Collection is designed by Christian Cera, who reimagined decommissioned Manila Water uniforms as the foundational material for seven functional, fashion-forward bag silhouettes, all handcrafted by skilled community weavers.
The collection serves as a meaningful fusion of organizational identities, blending two unique
trademarks. The set of wearables feature the R2R ‘weave’, representing people-driven care, dignified livelihoods, and community empowerment for grassroots families. Meanwhile, the Manila Water ‘wave’ shows that every wave has a purposeful flow through dedicated water stewardship and public service.

Mobilizing the Enterprise: The Caravan’s Impact

The initiative recently gained traction through the multi-site Wear & Care Caravan, which ran across the Manila Water Main Office and the Manila Water Philippine Ventures Office, and the
East Zone Service Areas across Metro Manila. Katubigs from the Manila Water Non-East Zone business units Clark Water, Estate Water, and Laguna Water also handed over pre-loved uniforms for upcycling.

With active participation from over 300 employees, the SIKLO Wear & Care program achieved a
major sustainability milestone by collecting 1,256 pieces of pre-loved uniforms. This effort
diverted 251 kilograms of textile waste from landfills, successfully repurposing the materials into the Weave & Wave Collection. With this, more than 6,280 kilograms of CO₂ emissions were
prevented—an environmental benefit equivalent to planting more than 285 trees.

Embodying Shared Responsibility Driven by the collective generosity of its employees, the SIKLO Wear & Care program reinforces a powerful message: sustainability is not merely a corporate concept, but a shared responsibility in action.

Through the SIKLO: Wear & Care program, Manila Water Foundation showcases how circular design can seamlessly intercept waste, breathe new life into everyday materials, support communities, and strengthen the Manila Water enterprise's enduring commitment to environmental stewardship.
